how to hide useless borders of maximized windows?

When a window is maximized, its borders (left, right, bottom) are useless: you
can't drag them and they do not serve to separate your window from outside
(because there's no outside). They are just annoyingly wasting screen space. 

Therefore, I wonder if there's a way to hide borders of maximiz
