Problem updating KDE 3.0.4

Today I updated my SUSE 8.0 to KDE 3.0.4 (rpm -Uvh --nodeps) and when I 
restarted again with my ROOT account system requested to update my last 
configuration or to start a new one. I selected the 1st one. Then everything 
works OK less YAST2. It is impossible to run it. It is only possible to run 
yast in text mode but not in graphic one. How can I resolve this ?

Also when I started with my normal account system didn't requested to update 
my last configuration but eveything is OK and Control Center shows version 
3.0.4. Is this normal ?
