Updating to KDE 3.0.4 & GNOME 2.0.2

Which is the easiest way to update my Suse 8.0 to that new versions of KDE 
3.0.4 & GNOME 2.0.2 replacing actual ones (3.0.3 & 1.4) for saving Hard Disk 
space ?

How to indicate to system for using new versions ?
