alarms in korganizer 4hrs late

I've also been having problems with Korganizer. I enter reminders and 
the alarm shows up but when I close it down all entries disappear. I 
used the "handbook" to go step by step but still all entries are gone 
after I close the organizer. So I never get any alerts at all. This is a 
major problem for me. Now I'm trying to find an organizer that works.
I'm using KDE-3.0 on SuSE-8.0
