KMail can't display images which are embedded into HTML mails. But in 
the View menu you can choose if attachments should be shown as icons or 
inlined. If you choose 'inline' then the images will be shown after the 
message text.

The version of KDE you use is shown if you select Help->About KDE in any 
KDE program.

If the euro symbol isn't displayed then either you don't have a font 
installed which contains the euro symbol or the euro symbol wasn't 
encoded correctly (some Windows programs seem to assume that everybody 
uses the Windows encoding by default).
