You mean you have an action asociated the left click onto the desktop,
right?
I mean, not asociated with any left click, you still can normally click
in links, etc.
I am not sure if it is possible ti do this with KDE in its current
version, but as far as I can see on my KDE2.2.2 desktop, you can have
custom menus asociated with mouse clicks on the deskop.
To achieve something similar to your script, it would have to be called
periodically generating such a custom menu.
