konqueror doesn't honor FilePattern from .desktop

Not if it is an application "*.desktop" file.

	Type=Application	

That will only happen with a MIME "*.desktop" file.

	Type=MimeType

You need two "*.desktop" files.  One for the file type and one for the 
application.  The file type file should normally be in: 
"$KDEDIR/share/mimelnk/"
