konqueror doesn't honor FilePattern from .desktop

Where did you put the .desktop file?

AFAIK they you'd have to out it into the mimelnk directory in the sub 
directory of the appropriate type.

I think you can use File patterns in an application desktop entry, just 
mimetypes.
