Address book not working in KDE 3.0.0

libkab.so.3 was part of KDE 2.x. kaddressbook (from KDE 3.0) doesn't 
require this library anymore. Therefore I guess that you still have an 
old kaddressbook binary (from KDE 2.x) lying around which can't start 
because of missing libraries.

Run
  kaddressbook --version
to find out which version is executed. You should get
  Qt: 3.0.x
  KDE: 3.0.x
  KAddressBook: 3.0
