konqueror crashes on sound preview via lan

i enabled sound preview on konqueror. when i 
preview an mp3 file on my local harddisk it plays fine. 
but when its on the network via the konqueror's lan 
browser on an smb host, konqueror crashes.  what 
seems to be the problem. btw.. im using kde-3.1rc5.
