kdebase-3.0.3 compiling problem

My compiling problem is the same as that of a previous email from Ivens.

I am aware that it is a known bug in the bug list (46699) and that it is
marked done.
What is done? What is the fix? Can I edit auth.c at line 678 with the
appropriate code?
Is there a patch? Do I need to use CVS?

Someone knows the answer and they are holding out!!!!

Any help would be very appreciative.
