Kaddressbook importing

I have a (large) list of addresses I'd like to import into kaddressbook.

There doesn't seem to be any *help* for this, but I've done what the GUI seems 
to be wanting me to do, but but doesn't work--It imports 8 blank lines at the 
top of the addressbook and that's it.

Is there any doc on how to do this?  Has anybody in fact done it?
