It had the "crash on exit" problem (which is very annoying when you have
10 Konqueror windows open and when you close one window all windows
close).

I think a patch to commit this was included in 3.0, but there was no
time for adequate testing.  Since a "style" affects every single
application, and a bug can even prevent the desktop from launching, the
obviously prudent thing to do was by default not compile the style.

If a distributor chooses to compile and install it anyway, that's what
free software is about, but please direct complaints if something goes
wrong to the distributor (of course that won't happen :-( ).
