You don't need a kde.org matrix account to access KDE's chatrooms. You can 
register on another federated Matrix serve, like matrix.org (see https://
matrix.org/docs/chat_basics/matrix-for-im/#creating-a-matrix-account) and then 
search for KDE rooms or just click on a link this:
