Hi Roger,

yes, there used to be a side called worldwide.kde.org, but that is
gone due to its very highly outdated nature.

As for your questions, there is no strict policy, though we indeed try
to keep the number of subdomains low, as it is a pain to maintain such
sites from a sysadmin POV, while it maybe is only rarely used. So it
might indeed be a better idea to find a good place in one of our
existing websites.

One would be somewhere under www.kde.org , maybe under "Community". Or
the wiki community.kde.org could be used.

How would you plan to have it look though? Also a static world map
where users can sign up and set their location or more a dynamic
approach (which probably would involve an OSM layer).
