hm, those are hard to reproduce. If it doesn't exist yet, please file a
bug report about this on bugs.kde.org?

Yes, just vlc probably isn't installed. If I rerun the kdewin-installer
in package manager mode and install vlc, it won't crash anymore, also
see bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281338
