filetype association

Hello,

I just started using kde for windows. I am using version 4.2.1. I tried
dolphin file manager and liked it quite much. I tried to switch from
explorer to dolphin but there is a problem in file type associations that
regard non-kde programs.

If there is a kde application that handles the file type everything is
fine. Clicking on the file opens it in appropriate application. But if
there is only a windows file type association, dolphin always opens the
"open with ..." dialog, where the correct application (e.g. Excel) is
already highlighted. Clicking on "always open with" has no effect.

I also tried choosing the correct windows application in koquerors file
type association dialog. But this doesn't work either. It says that the
chosen application cannot be found.

Has anyone solved this problem?
