Hi!
((Disclaimer:
The news about utils.kde.org being up is under embargo, please. Let's wait
until everything is reviewed and fully working. Remember, first impression
stays quite long. Will see to make a dot story about this, once we are all
satisfied with the site, to bring some more promo to all our utilties.))
Thanks to the help of the sysadmins and the people on the mailinglist kde-www,
http://utils.kde.org/
is now up and running :)
There is a last issue with the correct "icons" dir being shadowed by some
wild-running rewrite rule, but that should be solved soon.
[Your content, please]
Now, that the basic infrastructure is there and running, everyone is invited
to fill the site with more and more content, I just pushed things a little to
pass the start.
While I expect the content of the pages Development and Documentation to be
pretty complete already (all scripted BTW), the pages Info, Features, FAQ
need your content (I only care enough for Okteta to add more details :)
The page Contact is a candidate for scripting, too, always the same content,
will do this the next weeks if noone beats me to it.
Patches are best written against trunk/www/sites/utils/. As said before, write
access below trunk/www is restricted, so currently it's only me on this list
who can commit there I guess. Does not need to stay this way, who wants to
become fellow webmaster? :)
[Screenshots]
For a start it would be great if there could be at least one screenshot per
program, for each program's mainpage. Perhaps even by using Screenie [S].
Anyone volunteering to create some? The guide [D] to screenshots on
docs.kde.org looks a little bit outdated, I guess we agree the style and
decoration should be Oxygen these days, no?
[Discussion of structure]
You can consider the whole site structure a draft. It is a proposal of mine, I
am open to discussion (oh, how easy this is to say being the only one with
commit rights :) But I think it's better to discuss things based on a
concrete example than over vapour.
Now, comments, suggestions, contributions?

PS: And applause for Daniel Laidig to be the first one to add new content by
sending in a patch with some more description of KCharSelect :)
