There is hollow pane shown so it is hard to miss it.

+1, activate grouping
+2, add window (ctrl+LMB)

Cannot do this because of the ambiguity. "Groupize" means create start 
creating group -- not add to the group.

Cannot do this. Regular operations, like bring window to front, should 
be possible.

No, close should close container with applications as well. If you 
want to ungroup, then ungroup.

Symbols should not change their meaning.

If you want to regroup, you regroup, if you want to tear off any 
window, you can do this too. I still don't see a point. Do you have 
any scenario in mind?

? You mean all apps at the same time have focus?
