Good luck to both of you.
Try not to combine too much, you are in competition with each other :)

To explain how this works overall::

What will happen, is we (on the mailing list) will help the both of
you as best as we can. We need the best proposals possible to try and
persuade KDE that we (KDE Telepathy) deserves the places for GSOC. You
post these on Melange (the GSOC website)

We then (in private to you) will comment on these talking about how
well you've helped with us, or anything. Then /all/ the KDE mentors
will vote on your applications - and we go with what they say.
