Hi guys, my first post here. I was told that my idea for a telepathy
widget was posted on the mailing list so I thought I would jump in the
discussion.

When configuring the status we should make sure to not take away options
from the user. The thing I love about KDE is that it gives me so many
options to do things the way I want to do them. That being said, I think
that alot of people would appreciate an easy way to set their statuses
per account, as well as globally. Remember, just because it's not
something you need yourself doesn’t mean it's not useful. I have several
accounts and some of them with different friends or coworkers. While
it's nice to have a central location for instant messaging, I still
should have the option to handle my accounts separately. Eventually it
would even be cool to create virtual groups and set your status for
different contact groups, but thats something to worry about later.
Giving the user more options doesn't necessarily have to take up a ton
of space or be difficult to use either. I made mockups a while back with
a very powerful status changer that would be accessed by a simple button
that takes up very little space. Here's the link to my blog post, and
attached are two of the mockups that show the status changer.
