Mockup for Contact List

I'm all for this, I think it makes a lot of sense.

The reason this is on the ML is that there is a review request [1] which
ended up in some people saying that there is no point showing a default away
message if one is not set. Rather than arguing in the review thread, it was
suggested to bring it to the mailing list.

If anyone does think differently to the proposal, now is a good time to say
it, otherwise I'll merge it.
