Hmm you are right this is not shared between all the apps kde have, but it is
common concept that is used among variety of IM/irc clients (even
konversation).

Used concept is to use alt+[1-0] and then alt+[q-p]{keyboard line wise} to
switch between first 20 tabs.

With the concept of vertical tabs listing (see bug#298961) this gets really
usefull, because for example I have currently opened 15 tabs and I don't see
any reason why to close some of them, it is only annoying that I have to
navigate around them with mouse instead of having my hands on the keyboard all
the time.
