aha -- I run the command you suggested and what happened: access to kwallet,
allow/deny dialog appears.

So it seems that the problem is between keyboard and chair -- I probably
somehow disallowed the access to kwallet to ktp-auth-handler and therefore it
was not able to retrieve password. 

It might have been fine to have that information instead of "authorization
failed, is your password correct?".

Closing as it is not a bug but user problem.
