You should care about $SONAME, -B group and -z nodefaultlib. Because
if you don't, you sound like you have no clue what you are talking about.

What is your question ?

Who is going to deliver two different QT4's in Solaris ? Sun ?

Yes, it is. Sunfreeware has been delivering a great service to the
Solaris community at large for over 10 years now. They have been
delivering software in /usr/local on Solaris for over 10 years, and i
am not going to overwrite their established standards. You may have
noticed that Sun doesn't overwrite Sunfreeware's standards either.

My company has already established standards and guidelines for Open
Source Software, and has already enforced them, by delivering Apache,
PHP, Perl, Postgres, MySQL5, etc, under /usr.

Have you noticed what's in /usr ? Or is that something you are not
going to talk about, because it inconveniently conflicts with your
theories ?
