[kde-solaris] Bash not sourcing profiles under KDE-3.1.4

I have a weird issue with bash2 on my Ultra 60. I am running the
contrib- packages of KDE-3.1.4, under Solaris 8, with a current RPC
installed. Everything works wonderfully (and quickly!), except that
kicking off a Konsole results in a shell which doesn't source
/etc/profile, $HOME/.profile, $HOME/.bashrc, or $HOME/.bash_profile.
Typing ". $HOME/.bashrc" solves the problem, but this is rather
annoying.
I have checked all the standard reasons for this (bash being referenced
as /bin/sh, bad group memberships, etc.) and can't find anything.
This doesn't seem to happen under CDE with the same user. I have even
gone so far as to remove the account and completely re-create it. I
have also built a new package of bash-2.05b. No dice.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
