> There is plenty of emirical evidence to suggest that SUNW should be reserved for packages created by and supported by SUN.

This is supported by the "Solaris System Administration Guide: Basic
Administration" (see http://docs.sun.com/):

: Key Points for Adding Software Packages (pkgadd)

: Keep the following key points in mind before you install or remove packages
: on your system:

: * Package naming conventions - Sun packages always begin with the prefix
: SUNW, as in SUNWaccr, SUNWadmap, and SUNWcsu. Third-party packages
: usually begin with a prefix that corresponds to the company's stock
: symbol.
: * ..

But lets not forget over this side discussion, that the KDE for Solaris
stuff is just wonderful. Thank you very much, Stefan!

Reinhard
