[kde-solaris] Gcc version everyone is using

Hi !
I would undoubtedly recommend 2.95.3.
I have been working latest weeks on regenerating our GNU universe for
Solaris 2.8.
gcc3.2 was built quite fine, without binutils first, but led to endless
problems with various libs including ncurses, gtk, etc.
rebuilding the whole to use binutils helped slightly, but did not solve
evtg.
I have decided to stick to the following :

	binutils-2.11.2
	gcc-2.95.3

and now, everything works like heaven (feels almost as comfortable as a
native Linux system ;-))

I have been building kde-3.0.4 with hints loosely gathered from the =
list,
and mostly with the great help of Tobias Oetiker INSTALL info at
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/kde-solaris/. I derived from this =
script,
but mostly followed the mailine. Works very fine (if you can stand =
waiting
**quite** a while!). I did not play much with result yet, but seems =
rock
solid.
May Tobias be thanked for this well prepared job.

wish you the best luck !

here?
Im testing with 2.95, and haveing a bugger of a time with SSL
support, and=20
problems with open and truncate getting clobbered to open64 and =
truncate64.

Does 3.2 fix this? Is 3.2 production quality on Solaris?
