Need feedback on GSoC Proposal (Vijay Krishnavanshi)

Hi Vijay and all other students,

If you write to this list, you are writing to your fellow students.
While this is not a terrible idea, it is not that productive, either.
Please send your links to the team you want to work with, and perhaps
the mentors you expect to work with this summer.

I personally will read any student proposals, for grammar, spelling,
organization, presentation, and inclusion of testing and documentation
throughout the summer.

One weakness I often see is that writing unit tests, testing the code
itself, and documenting are left to the end.

DO NOT DO THIS. Not only should you be commenting your code as you
write it, every time you make a substantive change *you* *must*
*document* it. Whether that be user documentation, API docs, or other
relevant documentation. If you leave it to the end, it will not be
complete. Document as you go. Test as you write. And put that in the
Timeline of your proposal.

If you need help with either of these, please ask on the KDE-devel
list, which by now you *all* should be subscribed to.

Please read and practice:
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/UnitTests . Note that
this is old, but still useful. If you can help improve that doc,
great! It's a wiki. Much of our old documentation could use some
freshening -- feel free to help with that.

Finally, remember to check the page https://community.kde.org/GSoC .
We worked very hard on that page to give you all the information you
need to be successful. We want to move you from thinking as "student
working on KDE code during the summer" to KDE developers. We want you
to step up and take responsibility for the part of the KDE codebase
and KDE community that you love.

All the best,

Valorie
