Season of KDE is an amazing opportunity to contribute to KDE. It
usually starts around the mid-term of GSoC but the exact time will be
announced on this list. I'd suggest you to subscribe to
kde-soc at kde.org mailing list if you still haven't.

Start using IRC and start fixing small bugs. To start you may search
for junior jobs tag[1]. Every project in KDE has some junior jobs[2].
These are the bugs that are usually very small and easy to fix. These
are just perfect for beginners.
