Hi,

I'm working with KStars (Desktop planetarium for KDE) this summer, and
aim at increasing the number of stars displayed in KStars by a factor
of 10 - from about 125000 to a little more than a million.

> How easy was your approach to KDE code?

I had worked with KStars before, and found it comfortable. My project
hardly needs me to know the KDE API. It took me quite a while, though,
to learn to comply with coding practices.

I've started writing code, and the primary aim of the project (1E6
stars) has been completed. There are quite a few TODOs left.

> Have you committed anything (code, designs, etc.)?

Yes. I've commited code to
/home/kde/branches/kstars/summer/kdeedu/kstars/kstars

I haven't blogged much. I've usually blogged whenever I've reached a
milestone in the project.

The community is simply amazing. There are a lot of friendly, polite
and helpful people. I was definitely well received.

Regards
Akarsh
