Let me rephrase what I said:
everyone will have to make changes if/when we switch to Git. Translators
are a part of the community just like developers. If translators have a
problem, we'll address it. We will make everything in our power to
accommodate their needs. This discussion here is proof enough that we're
trying to get the least amount of changes to them. We'll also have to run
our proposed changes by them to see if it's acceptable.
Translators will be treated as first-class citizens: no less important than
anyone else.
But also no more important. We will not let progress be stopped by
stubbornness. Everyone will need to adapt to changes, translators
included.
Refusing to accept one change in command is stubbornness and lack of team
play. Pure and simple.
Now, my *personal* opinion is that the gain in developer efficiency
outweighs a few stubborn people (developers, translators and others) who
will not make the switch. The same happened with CVS: some developers
refused to start using SVN.
