agreed. and i attempted to change that for 3.5 by applying ONLY sidebars for 
file management to the file management profile and ditto for web browsing. 
but i ran into a few corner cases where this broke down. it led me to agree 
that this requires a deeper set of changes in konqueror, and that's on the 
kde4 timeline.
