Kde Websites need loads of updates

The short answer is "yes, we know, and it's a big job". I'm not involved in 
web development, so I don't know the specific problems or ways to get 
involved, but you can ask on kde-www at kde.org if there are any easy ways to 
get involved (for example, I imagine that updating individual out-of-date 
pages, like the picture gallery that you mention, is a useful way to start).
