What to do to get extra language?

Hi,

I found out that previous compile problems with arts were happening
because there is a bug in GCC in Gentoo Linux:

So I am now on my older computer, which is compiling a lot slower but
at least it does so I can test and translate.

However, now I have a new question

What do I have to do to get additional languages installed for the
user interface? Do I have to compile the hole kde-i18n package or can
I select just on or two languages that get compiled and others don't?
