Thank you for your clearly stated advice.  I will try to follow it.

How should I submit an image file (or files) that go with a patch.  You can put 
it in the patch, but then it probably won't display in a text editor (not good 
:-)).  I would think that I should put it in a TARball so that it included the 
directory location and I would normally compress this to save bandwidth.  But 
apparently this is also "nonsense".

I spent some time on this and perhaps it is just because I am ill today, but it 
really disturbed me to have my work referred to as "nonsense".  It doesn't 
encourage people to try to help with the project.
