Did you clean the build directories ?
They grow massive. I did some measurements for Carlos when he first put his
guide up.

If you clean out your build directories you need 675Megs for the binaries.
Since you seem to concentrate on kdepim you could delete all other source.
A quick check on my system reveals :
kdedev at mordor kdedev $ cd src/kde/kdepim/
kdedev at mordor kdepim $ du -hs .
49M .
So you need approx. 725Megs.
That's still a lot but also far less then the 3.4 Gigs if you leave all the
build files.
