Hello,
Attached patch allows "add printer wizard" to automatically find network
printers supporting Rendezvous protocol and detect name, queue, location,
description and proper drivers. It relies on kdnssd library - it is not in
kdelibs yet but i think it will be soon (see thread
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel&m=110192041026735&w=2).
Following things are not done yet:
- capabilities - i'm not sure if it does makes sense anyway - all these are
in PPD
- multiqueue printers
- "priority" - for printers that announce support for several protocols (for
example LPD and IPP) several entries will be displayed instead of selecting
preferred one
- printer can specify list of accepted mimetypes - how it should be used?
This patch adds listbox with found printers (updated in real time) under list
of backends. I don't think it is so good, but i don't know kdeprint too well
and it was best i could come up with for now. Comments will be very
appreciated.
