Ooops... I had wanted to make this a KDE4 wishlist item.


So here it is, to be considered for KDE4:

  (a) Make "CUPS printer detection upon kprinter startup" stoppable
  (b) Maybe "integrate detecting progress bar with print dialog (not
      a separate window)" 

(a) may have a use case for occasions where the detection takes much longer than expected (not so much the reason given by the reporter, "erraneous clicking")
