Hi,

just as a random idea, you could try enabling the "Job Tracker" in Akonadi 
Console, then start sync in the EWS resource. You should see ItemSync job 
started with lots of ItemCreateJob subjobs.

One reason why sync can fail is when the ItemSync or some of its subjobs fail, 
this might give a bit more hint as to what fails.

This is just to help locating whether the problem is in the resource <-> EWS 
code or resource <-> Akonadi code.
