I think you may need a newer akonadi-server. According to my knowledge the
file leaking issue in Akonadi has been fixed.
Huge POP3 with local maildir + 30 day IMAP:
martin at merkaba:~> du -sh ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
14M /home/martin/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
Huge IMAP:
ms at merkaba:~> du -sh ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
526M /home/ms/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
ms at mango:~> du -sh ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
5,6M /home/ms/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data/
all with SizeTreshold=16384 in akonadiserver config.
