[Kde-pim] When is is that kmail will start moving spam to trash again?

I let Kmail move the spam messages to a spam folder having an expiration rule 
there. This works. I haven't tried direct deletion, though.

I can confirm that sometimes messages are not filtered. Just as you describe...
BTW, my filter to rewrite a header (subject in my case) stopped working when I 
updated to KDE 9.3. Probably that function is not often used...
