Hi Akshay,

I don't know much in that area (not even using kmail :p) but you might

If you want, you can start taking up a junior job. Those jobs are
relatively simple and will probably show you the kmail2 codebase.

I hope one of the kmail devs could step in here and show you some more
helpful links to get started.
