[Kde-pim] All Accounts offline - whats a user to do?

Started up my Kubuntu 12.04/4.81 desktop this morning and both my IMAP 
accounts where offline. I knew to start akonadiconsole and put them back 
online, whereupon they both worked fine.

But what would a casual user do? there was no indication of the problem or how 
to resolve it.
