Thanks for the input.I am not sure that helps, I cannot remember the firewall 
accepting any git traffic (both git port and ssh port are locked down for sure). 
I can have git use the proxy server if the http option use port 80. Not sure 
how that will work for external dependencies. I can make another attempt on 
Monday.
