All the time I have been using kmail (since kde 1.12) my mail have been in 
~/Mail. At some point I switched to maildir, but the mail was still in  
~/Mail.

If it is not a technical bug, it is a logical bug. [Akonadi resource] 
configuration offers me to decide where mail should be stored, and then does not 
store it there. That is lying to me, and dangerous, as I can not trust the 
system, in this case akonadi and kde.
