Yesterday I did some tests about the compatibility
of invitations send by Kontact (Touch and Desktop)
to Outlook 2003 and 2007.
I was interested in some timezone, sommertime behaviour.

There first findings can be seen here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=263018#c18

Testscript:
http://kolab.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs-kolab.cgi/utils/testing/test-send-invitations-timezone.py

Conclusion:
To be compatible with both versions of Outlook tested
for recurrent events, we would need to send
a proper VTIMEZONE with use of the TZID.
It is okay to send VTIMEZONE with the use of TZID for singe instance events.

Sending invitations that use 'Z' time in DSTART works for single instance
events.
