If i have no clue what something means, i ask aunt google. A simple
google search for PIM spits out the wikipedia page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_information_manager which
explains PIM very well.

I agree in general, to put information about what is it all about, on
a page is a good idea. Though, especially PIM is very well known out
there in the wild, since everybody has to do with it ;) By the way,
the kdepim page has all information needed: http://pim.kde.org/
(again, google search for "kde pim").
