Thanks Tsvi.

The files are used in KOrganizer and the Plasma desktop calendar to display
holidays and 'interesting' events. Mostly this is for information only, but
in KOrganizer they are also used to help determine working/non-working days to
shade the day cells and determine free/busy time, so it is important they are
as accurate as possible.

At the moment this is a very blunt tool, users can only choose a single
holiday file to use, the file is tied to a specific country or region, and we
can only mark a holiday as being a day-off or not.

In 4.5 I've improved some of the holiday calculations, including the ability
to calculate using the Hebrew calendar. For 4.6 there will be more control
over holiday classification and types of days-off, separate files for
religious holidays, the ability to select multiple files to be displayed, what
holiday types to have as days-off, etc. So that will give the ability to have
separate holiday files for Israel and the Diaspora, and cater for any
differences between orthodox and reform or other variations.

So for 4.5 we only have a file for Israel which includes the official public
holidays (at least according to Wikipedia) marked as days off ("weekend") and
a selection of religious holidays for information. I understand there is some
personal choice as to which ones an individual or company takes as days off,
but we can't cope with that as yet.

I am interested in the rules for moving Yom Haatsmaut and Yom Hazikaron as I
can easily include those in the holiday calculation.

Cheers!

John.
