How do you provide the password in KMail?
The migrator will try to find the password in the wallet and in the config
file.
I think if it can't find one the resource will ask for it when it first logs
in.

Did it not do that?

The migrator opens the wallet to check for login data, if there is none in
there, it falls back to values in the config.

The migrator creates an IMAP resource for each IMAP account and then
configures it with the values from the config file.
The resource should ask for the password if it didn't get one or if it is
wrong.
At least that's what it did when I forgot to copy my wallet file to the test
setup.
